Our Soft Shell Venus painting ( which is now 30 years old as well) was borrowed from the Bottecelli Italian painting " Birth of Venus" in the late 1400's. The mythology of Venus is that she was born in the sea from the destruction of Uranus (sky god) or the daughter of Jupiter (Neptune) and Dione who was the Queen of Zeus/ Neptune and was the Ocean Goddess. We like it that she represents self-love, beauty, charm and fertility and also thought of as the protector of the garden. We celebrate love for ourself in the form of spa treatments, gifting others for self care and taking the time out to look and feel our best with the natural and celebrated options at Soft Shell.
